Psalm 8 | The Majesty of God and the Dignity of Man

The Bible declares that God is "clothed in splendor and majesty." How so? We also hear of "the dignity of man" which in our Western culture uniquely compels us to reach our to the less fortunate. Psalm 22 | Nobody Knows But Jesus

Have you ever struggled with the apparent discrepancy between the love of God and human misery? Unlike other religions, Christianity provided us with a God who not only related to our suffering but had personally entered into it! Psalm 23 | The God Who Shepherds Us

Since that fateful day in the Garden of Eden, most of us humans have declared our autonomy--the choice to rule ourselves and be free from any "encumbrances" that a pesky, personal God would lay on us. Some have preferred to make God their "co-pilot"--someone to lend a helping hand now and then and perhaps even turn the controls over to when things get rough. Psalm 49 | Focus and Fulfillment: Part I

Ask yourself: Are you content with what you have or do you think you are missing out? What would it take or how much do you think you need to make you happy? If God called you home to heaven, would you be ready? Despite living in a country with one of the highest standards of living in the world (not to mention history), we often feel threatened or tempted to want more when we compare ourselves with others. Having a proper perspective enables us to refocus on what really matters as we take a look at Psalm 49 and have a look at “Focus and Fulfillment-Part 1”.
